Our heartfelt condolences to Kazuko Miyanaga family for the loss of son Tony Miyanaga.

Our long time BWA member and past president, Shinobu Gatanaga, passed away in June. Our sincere condolences to Shinobu's children and families.

On June 25th, many BWA and BTS members came to help with temple clean up and also to help with Lumpia making for Obon. Thank you to co-chairs Mitsuko Hagihara, Kazue Kuramura and Fumiko Yonemitsu for such an excellent job.

We also made kuri manju on July 15 and 16th. Again, we thank all the members for coming out and making the delicious kuri manju. Thank you Fukiko Nishio, Misako Kamimura and Yoriko Kuramura for all your hard work in chairing this 2-day event.

On July 20, chairperson Kay Morishita and her working committee made the anpans for Obon. Thank you for your dedication to carry on the Sachi Tanimura's tradition of anpans for Obon.

A great big thank you to Don Yoshimura for replacing the circuit board for the 2 wall ovens. This year the ovens worked well and all the baking came out very nicely.

BWA gave a $10,000.00 donation to the Temple to use for the renovation and updating of the Minister's new house. We will also be cleaning the new house before sensei moves in.

In August, we will be helping with the Tri Temple service and lunch.

Thank you to all the BWA members for their dedication and sacrifices to make this year's Obon a success. With each year, our Temple work force gets smaller so we really appreciate all of you who persevere and make the effort to come and help. Thank you! Arigato!
