Our annual Lady Kujo service was on Sunday June 9. Rev. Hoshu Matsubayashi was our guest speaker. On Saturday night, we took Mrs. Matsubayashi to dinner. Unfortunately, Rev. Matsubayashi was not feeling well and was unable to attend. Rev. Matsubayashi gave a wonderful Dharma talk and he and Mrs. Matsubayashi stayed and had the YBA curry lunch.

Thank you to our guest speaker, emcee Jan Tokiwa, accompanist Kahori Kuramura. Osonae was courtesy of Salinas BWA. We thank the Fumi Kuramura and Shinobu Gatanaga families for the onaijin flowers. The monetary donations will go towards the support of our Dharma School and our YBA (Young Buddhist’s Association).

We would like to take this time to thank the ladies who sit at the uketsuke table before every major service and receive donation envelopes, hand out service programs. Thank you to June Aoki, Carol Cisneros, Machiko Miyanaga and Tamiko Oishi. Since this is not an elected position, anyone is welcomed to come and help and give these 4 a break every now and then.

We purchased new doorbells for the Hondo and Gym doors. The doors will be locked going forward for security reasons. Hopefully when you ring the bell, someone inside will be able to hear it and let you in.
